We bought our Casita on September 30, 2016. We knew the exterior was a bit rough, and that we'd have to do work on the inside of it too. It was missing the fridge, and they didn't know if the appliances worked or not. The price they had advertised was a price for a camper that needed some loving. An issue they identified was that they had hit a bump/obstruction that had damaged the plumbing under the bathroom. Peter saw that this had likely broken the welds on a cross-support in that area. Overall, it looked to be a good purchase, and with a little bargaining, we had a Casita. [Insert foreshadowing... we wish that we had a Casita checklist of things to check for.]
Below are photos of the Casita attached to our Tacoma and in front of our 1988 Bronco II. The Bronco II made it up the Alaska Highway with a 10' trailer packed to the gills (approx. 2500lbs likely), so Peter did hope/dream that we might be able to keep the Casita to a weight where we could use the Bronco as a tow vehicle (the Bronco is a 2.4L V6 manual transmission). We realized that might not be the best thing, but it was a hope [foreshadowing... later developments might actually make the Bronco a possibility?].
